Price Hike: Redmi started price hike for its cheapest phones

After news of 18% GST (Goods & Services Tax) went live for mobile phones in April, Xiaomi India started increasing the price of all its smartphones every other day. The recent hike was in late May for the Redmi 8 and Redmi Note 8 series.

Redmi 8A DUAL was the second cheapest model in India, that too also get a price hike with Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. The price of these two handsets has been increased by ₹1,300 and  ₹2,000 from their launch.


As above said the Xiaomi launched the Redmi 8A Dual as the cheapest dual-camera phone in India. Later the company has lifted the price of its base model (2GB + 32 GB) three times and model (3GB + 32GB) two times.


Besides, Xiaomi also hiked the price of Its Note 9 Pro Max, by another ₹500 for both variants (6GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB). However, the high-end 8GB + 128GB version did not receive any price hike this time.
