Vodafone-Idea users can move to eSIM service on Apple Watch

Vodafone India network starting support for Apple Watch Cellular models in India from June 12th. Until now, only Airtel and Jio were offering cellular service for Apple Watch in India.

Vodafone customers can now use the eSIM service for their Apple Watch (GPS + Cellular) and iPhone in select circles that include Mumbai, Delhi, and Gujarat.
These cellular services will continue to be grown to additional circles in the coming weeks.
Which Apple devices can use this service
For now, this cellular service for Apple Watch is available only for Vodafone Postpaid customers.
Moreover, the Vodafone Idea eSIM will only work for preferred devices that include the following:
1. Apple Watch Series 3 (Cellular)
2. Apple Watch Series 4 (Cellular)
3. Apple Watch Series 5 (Cellular)
4. Apple iPhone 6s or later models
To check the eligibility, Vodafone customers need to send the text “CHKESIM” to 199. The customers need to the Apple Watch paired with their iPhone device activated by Vodafone postpaid connection
As this cellular service for the wearable is an extension of the existing connection on the phone, we do not require a separate postpaid plan for the Apple Watch. The same plan of the iPhone device will also work on the wearable.

Here are the steps to setup eSIM service
Update iOS to the latest
Open the Watch app on iPhone
Start the pairing of Apple Watch
Sign in with your Apple ID and password to continue
Tap “Setup Mobile Data” to share your Postpaid number and plan with Apple Watch
Enter your Vodafone postpaid number and self-care password, or with register your phone number
Tap Confirm once the login is successful
After Second confirmation the service will get activated within 30 min
